First Wedding Fayre!

Vintage Wedding Cupcakes

I am so excited to have completed Baked.’s first wedding fayre! It was held at The Alexandra, Grangetown, Sunderland and was organised by Dragonfly Gifts & Crafts. It was a wonderful selection of exhibitors from the wedding industry and had a fantastic fashion show by Encore from Sunderland. Other local businesses included James Devlin Photography who offered brilliant wedding packages (in fact my boyfriends sister is wanting to book him for her wedding!) Forever Our Day was exhibiting on the stall next to us and lets brides set up a website to capture all the details of their big day. It made me realise just how much you need to think about!

I was really please with how the Baked table turned out and it was nice to see all the hard work come together! I really enjoyed meeting all the brides to be, they all seemed quite organised… hopefully I will be like that when my big day finally comes!

I will also be exhibiting this Sunday (25th Sept 2011) at the Durham Wedding show which is held at the Emirates Cricket Ground in Chester-Le-Street and the Great North Wedding Show at the Hilton on October 23rd. Hope both of these prove just as successful and I am looking forward to seeing lots of lovely brides there!

New website is launched!

Hi Everyone! So excited to announce I have finally managed to get my new website up and running in time for National Cupcake Week. It’s been a long time coming and has taken so long because I have had to learn how to make websites! I’m still no expert, but I am pretty proud of myself for getting it all online. As I have a graphic design background I had a head start, but html and css was all jibberish to me (or was that javascript?!) Google has been my biggest help, it’s amazing what you can learn to do after a quick search.

So hope you all like it, and let me know if you have any problems viewing it. Why can’t everyone just use one browser?!

Cupcake 99 Cones!

Cupcake 99 Cone

Cupcake 99 ConeCucpake 99 Cones have landed at Baked.! Wafer cones are filled with soft sponge, topped with a buttercream swirl, sugar strands and a Cadbury Flake. I had so much fun making this treat and it has a habit of getting people excited! It did take a couple of attempts to get the sponge inside just right (a low oven temperature is the key, otherwise it turns into a Cupcake volcano!) They would be amazing at a childrens party, but let’s not leave the grown ups out who will be just as giddy about them. They would be a bit of a show stopper at a wedding too…

Testing!

Trying to link this blog to my new website, thought I had it cracked but it might take a bit more of a fiddle. The new site should be launched by the end of the week… need to check for spelling mistakes and what-not. I can’t wait to replace that horrible temporary site!
