The wedding season is starting up now and I just wanted to share the latest wedding I have catered for. The colour scheme was duck egg blue with dusty pink which looked beautiful when I visited the venue. I created a cupcake tower with a giant cupcake topping it off as well as cake pop place settings.
This was the first time I had made cake pop place settings for a wedding and I was really pleased with the results. The cake pops were done in the duck egg blue colour for male guests and the dusty pink colour for the female guests. They had mini pearl decorations and a shimmer. Cake Pops make amazing place settings and favours for your guests – two in one!
There was a request to have a special bride and groom cake pop for the bride and grooms table place setting. I have seen these before and think they are really cute but I hadn’t had a go myself. I loved the finished pops – think I will be having these when I get married!

I haven’t put a post up for quite a while, so I thought I would quickly share this recent cupcake tower. The bakery has been mad busy these past few weeks and there hasn’t been much time for anything else!
Cupcake towers look stunning at weddings and can be tailored to any taste, theme or whim! For a New Years Eve Baked created a 40s inspired Cupcake tower with matching 6″ cutting cake. The cupcakes were done in black and ivory with alternating wedding dress and suit decorations.
The cupcakes created a beautiful tower, the 6″ cutting cake was covered in embossed icing with a sugar flower.

Whilst getting prepared for the latest Wedding Fayre and making some of our beautiful wedding cookies (make sure you check them out in the gallery here), I saw some spare lolly sticks and had a brain wave! I was a bit nervous putting the paper sticks into the oven, but as the cookies needed only to be in for a short time I managed not to burn the kitchen down! The cookie pops that resulted were super cute! They are available in a circle or heart shape and can be covered in embossed sugar paste in any colour. Bride and groom initials can be stamped into the pops or messages written onto them.
The cookie pops would look beautiful at any wedding and make wonderful favours. They would also be great at a variety of celebrations, from children’s parties to christenings.
We love designing cupcakes to match our customers imagination, but we also love to give you inspiration and show you examples of what we can do. There will be lots of new exciting wedding ideas coming from Baked. in the next few weeks. The first offering are these Bride & Groom Cupcakes: Vanilla sponge with a buttercream layer and an embossed fondant top with a dress or suit decoration. Hope you like them!
I am so excited to have completed Baked.’s first wedding fayre! It was held at The Alexandra, Grangetown, Sunderland and was organised by Dragonfly Gifts & Crafts. It was a wonderful selection of exhibitors from the wedding industry and had a fantastic fashion show by Encore from Sunderland. Other local businesses included James Devlin Photography who offered brilliant wedding packages (in fact my boyfriends sister is wanting to book him for her wedding!) Forever Our Day was exhibiting on the stall next to us and lets brides set up a website to capture all the details of their big day. It made me realise just how much you need to think about!
I was really please with how the Baked table turned out and it was nice to see all the hard work come together! I really enjoyed meeting all the brides to be, they all seemed quite organised… hopefully I will be like that when my big day finally comes!
I will also be exhibiting this Sunday (25th Sept 2011) at the Durham Wedding show which is held at the Emirates Cricket Ground in Chester-Le-Street and the Great North Wedding Show at the Hilton on October 23rd. Hope both of these prove just as successful and I am looking forward to seeing lots of lovely brides there!
